Nutfield 1st XI  197-4 vs.Newdigate 2nd XI  139 all out

 

Newdigate visted Nutfield and struggled to take wickets against a strong batting line up. Peter Pople bowled 15 overs and took 2-38 but a 79 run partnership between D. Sloane (55 no) and A. Pollock (43) and solid backing from R.Turner (37) ensured that Nutfield would reach a useful total of 197-4.

 

In reply only opener, Peter Edwarde (28), Simon Capel (33) and byes (17) reached double figures but after 28 overs the total stood at 107-5 so anything was possible. Lyons however returned the excellent figures of 4-31 from ten overs as the last five wickets only managed to muster 32 runs between them.
