Lingfield Dev Xl 121 all out vs. Newdigate Dev XI 122-6

Newdigate's Development side got back on track with an excellent win against a stong Lingfield side in the Surrey Trust Development League game.Batting first Lingfield never got going on a damp track and was pegged back by some tight bowling from Ben Crook and fifteen year old Jose DeCastro with DeCastro picking up the first three wickets to fall.Pete Pople bowled tightly with his quick off breaks and finished with figues of 3 for 33.For the batting side only opener Hunt (32) and T. Gilbert (20) got any sort of momentum going as Lingfield were bowled out for an under par score of only 121 in 30 overs.Ben Crook finished with figures of 2 for 12 but the hero for the home side was young DeCastro who had excellent figures of 5 for 29 and was well supported by all the fielders.

In reply Newdigate were in trouble early on, losing four quick wickets for 20 runs but were rescued by a solid partnership of 74 between Mark Rance (35) and fourteen year old Alex Southon (41).Newdigate getting home with more than nine overs to spare. For the visiting side skipper Harvey Jarrett bowled superbly to pick up 4 for 18 but the game was lost with the under par score. A solid performance to win the game by Newdigate who will take on Chobham next week in the League.
