Mogador Wanderers 124 all out vs. Newdigate 125 - 5

Newdigate hosted the  Mogador Wanderers at the Brocus. After winning the toss the visiting skipper Alex Hewitt decided to have a bat on a used track which had a bit of spice in the offering to the bowlers. From the very first over the home side put the Mogs under pressure with some fine seam bowling from Sam Macdonald and Chris Douse. Douse taking an early wicket to start proceedings for Newdigate. Matt Homewood came in to the attack and took 3 further scalps. The home side was on top with the Mogs Skipper Hewitt falling cheaply to a good return catch by Ben Crook. Newdigate kept taking wickets on a regular basis and only a flurry of boundarys by number 10 Matt Lewis (22) helped the visiting side to a score of 124 all out. Homewood 3 for 18 and Crook 2 for 13 were good support to leg spinner Jack Bowley who finished with figures of 3 for 51 in his ten overs.

In reply Newdigate lost two early wickets but was steadied by Craig Jones (13) and young Fraser Mosley (11) who gave good support to Mark Rance and pushed Newdigate towards the winning target. But with the pitch offering more than just a bit to the bowlers the Mogs made the home side work hard for the runs. Rance fell strait after reaching a well made fifty but Richard Callcut 20* and Homewood 8* saw Newdigate to a comfortable victory.
