Lingfield 268 - 6 vs Newdigate 247 -12

This was Newdigate's final under 10 league match and they played against a strong, second placed Lingfield. Lingfield won the toss and elected to bat first and got off to a good start with Haig (11) particularly scoring well but Newdigate's fielding and bowling tightened up with two wickets from Oakley Wheeler and four from George Warne and they did well to keep Lingfield's score to 268

Frankie Shipton and Fenton Chambers got Newdigate off to a solid start of 13 but then wickets fell to the very strong Lingfield attack with Haig taking three wickets in an over and Faulkner two. This left the remaining batsmen a huge task but in spite of Finn Osborne scoring 18 and George Warne 11 the home team finished on 247 and had to settle on a mid-table finish. This young side play with a lot of spirit which bodes well for next season.
