Merstham U10 - 263 vs Newdigate U10 - 250

 

Merstham won a very exciting match the result of which was only decided in the final over.

Batting first Merstham was pinned down by some accurate bowling and George Warne was outstanding in taking four wickets. Lall (8) and Fice (10) batted well for Merstham and they ended on 263 from their 20 overs.

Newdigate batted carefully and followed instructions by preserving wickets but they fell behind the run rate as Merstham impressed with their bowling and fielding. Newdigate needed 16 to win from their last four overs but with all to play for in the final over Merstham kept their nerve and highlighted their win with a brilliant direct throw to get a run out from the final ball.
