Lingfield U12  95 - 8 vs Newdigate U12  88 - 8

 

Lingfield batted first and lost two early wickets but J.Batty (27 retired) held the innings together with some sound batting and he was assisted by J.Unwin (10) and D.Ellis (13). Throughout, Newdigate's bowling and fielding was of a high standard, but they still leaked too many wides. George Warne took 2-6 and there were three run-outs.

Andrew Kehl (14) led the response but wickets kept falling just as partnerships were developing and by the 20th over they ended up just seven runs short of the target with the improving Archie Ramsey on 10 not out. Once again this was a case for this young team of so near yet so far.
