Newdigate U13  134-6 vs. Crawley Down U13 96-8

 

An improving Newdigate side recorded a good win away at Crawley Down. Newdigate batted first and lost two early wickets but the reliable Andrew Kehl (30 ret.) and Brandon Williams (20) put on a good partnership and when the in form, Christian Parsons (20) joined Kehl the score fairly rattled along. Elliot Westgate bowled well for Crawley and took 3-13 and he was backed up by S.Arter who took 2-12 but wides took a heavy toll as Newdigate ended on a good score of 134-6.

Will Roberts removed both Crawley openers quickly and apart from S.Cameron (33 ret), who batted valiantly, no one else reached double figures. The wickets were spread across most of the bowlers with Jacob Allen also taking two wickets. The bowlers were backed up by some excellent fielding with five catches being taken. After 20 overs Crawley Down was on 96-8 and Newdigate came away pleased with a disciplined performance.
