Newdigate U13 83-8 vs. Oxted & Limpsfield U13 84-6

 

Newdigate batted first against a strong, unbeaten Oxted & Limpsfield side. Marley Bygrave (10) and Will Roberts (6) put on 23 for the first wicket but apart from Brandon Williams (22), who batted stoically, nobody else could stay to develop partnerships. T.Greenwood (2-13) and J.Foggin (2-7) bowled well and took key wickets and Newdigate was restricted to a below par total of 83-8 from their twenty overs.

Knowing that the opposition regular scores 120 plus, a top bowling and fielding performance was required by Newdigate and they nearly pulled it off. Charlie Wyllie gave nothing away and bowled his three overs for just five runs but it was Marley Bygrave who ripped the heart out of the batting taking 3-9 and he was backed up by George Warne who took 2-10. At 57-6 Oxted & Limpsfield were struggling with only J.Kite (25) coming to terms with the bowling. R.Calver (19 not out) started to dominate the bowling and he was joined by number eight, M.Margretta (10 not out) and between them they guided their side to safety in the 18th over.
