Newdigate 97-8 vs. Reigate Priory 99-2

 

Newdigate under 13s encountered a strong Reigate Priory side in their first league match and were well beaten by the better side.

 

Newdigate batted first and apart from Andrew Kehl (25) no one else managed to get into double figures. Harvey Boothroyd and Matt Zander both picke up a brace of wickets as Newdigate struggled to come to terms with accurate bowling. A late flurry from Jamie Addison and William Hearn pushed the score along to 97-8 after twenty overs.

 

Brandon Williams bowled one of the opening batsmen for nought but then Luke Glover and MAtt Zander both attacked the bowling and both retired on 32. Newdigate was only to get one more wicket as Priory eased past the required total for the loss of just two wickets
