Newdigate u15 110-8 vs. Southern Rail & Kenley u15 107-7
Having lost to Southern Rail & Kenley in the cup Newdigate was determined to make amends and just came through as winners by the skin of their teeth in a nail biting encounter.
Having won the toss, skipper Stephen Kehl opted to bat, but runs were not easy to come by as the visitors bowling was tight. Jack Wyllie scored 16 and Will Bennett accelerated the scoring with a quick fire 23 which included three fours and a six. J. Magill took 3-16 and tore out the Newdigate middle order but a partnership of 39 between Harry Ramsey (25 no) and Stephen Kehl (15) gave the Newdigate side something to aim at as they finished on 110-8 after 20 overs.
Southern Rail & Kenley lost an early wicket but then C.Nash (16) and A.Magill (29) put on 42 and at the halfway stage they were nicely poised. Jack Wyllie then took two wickets but two run-outs cost the batting side dearly and A. Harriot-Gayle was left stranded on 17 no. as his side ended their innings just agonisingly three runs short on 107-7.
This win has now puts Newdigate at the top of the u15 league.
