Oxted & Limpsfield 290-8 vs. Newdigate 272-7
Newdigate batted first and after a slow start, captain Sam Perrin accelerated the score with a well struck 11 and he was ably assisted by Joshua Oram (3). During training the importance of playing straight had been demonstrated but the middle order forgot this basic principal and were out to what can be best described as cross bat slogs. Joshua Loach and Morgan Hamilton both scored seven but this left Newdigate on a below par total of 272.
After 13 overs the game was nicely poised when Hamilton picked up two wickets in an over to leave the visitors on 242. A plethora of wides then gifted Oxted & Limpsfield with enough runs that meant they merely had to survive the last four overs. Although Samuel Clark and Joshua Loach both took wickets the last two batsman kept their heads to guide their team to a winning total of 290.
